Mark Entin
Holder of post doctorate degree from the MGIMO-University, since 2006 Director of the European Studies Institute at MGIMO (supervision of three Master Courses – in EU Law, EU Economics, EU Politics, short courses for civil servants), created in the framework of the EU-Russia Road Maps for training of Russian officials; prof. of the European Law Chair of MGIMO (key spheres: European Law, European System of Human Rights Protection, CoE and Russia, Common Foreign and Security Policy, EU-Russia cooperation). 2002-2006 – Director of the Institute of European Law, 1998-2002 – Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the CoE. Holder of Jean Monnet Chair in EU law since 2006, specialist in Russian and European Legal Systems, involved in a number of working groups dealing with reform of Russian governmental structures and legal system in accordance with the CoE standards.


Oleg Barabanov
Holder of post doctorate degree. Since 2006 Head of the Chair of Politics and Functioning of the EU and CoE (European Studies Institute), currently teaches World Politics, Global Governance, European Political Integration, European Security, History of World Politics, International Conflicts and Peace-Keeping. Author of many analytical reports on Russian foreign and domestic policy for the Administration of the President of Russia, both chambers of Russian Parliament; he has friendly relations with many politicians, business managers and journalists in Russia; he published his articles in various newspapers, such as Vedomosti, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Konservator etc, he provides his comments and expertise for the RTR – Russian Television, for radio Echo Moskvy, for Vedomosti and for the Moscow Bureau of Agence France Press.


Lev Entin
Professor at the Chair of European Law and Professor Emeritus at MGIMO-University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, obtained post doctorate degree in 1965, published over 300 monographies and articles in scientific journals, including “European Law. The Law of the European Union and the Legal Base for Human Rights Protection” (Moscow, 2005) (editor and co-author), “Introduction to European Law” (Rome, 2001), “The Institutional Structure of the European Union” (Kiev, 2004), “Commentary on the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms” (main editor Tumanov/Entin) (Moscow, 2002).


Tamara Shashikhina
Holder of LLM in European Studies from Paris-I University (Sorbonne) and PhD. Since 2006 – Director of the Institute of European Law, deputy director of the European Studies Institute, senior lecturer at the Chair of European law (European Law, EU business Law, EU Company Law), lectured as associate professor abroad, provides expertise for the harmonization projects in the field of business law (e.g. RECEP), vast experience in administration and management of training programmes at the MGIMO (e.g. short courses for civil servants in the field of EU Intellectual Property Law, master and specialist programmes of the IEL), conferences, seminars and workshops (17 large events in 2007/2008-2008/2009 academic years), holder of Jean Monnet Module in EU Business Law since 2007


Olga Butorina
Holder of post doctorate diploma in Economics. Since 2007 – adviser of the Rector of the MGIMO-University, Head of Chair of European Integration of the MGIMO. In 2005 – 2007 – Vice-Rector of the MGIMO-University for the New educational projects? Worked as associate professor Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Adviser to the Director General – Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange and an economist in USSR Foreign Trade Association “Novoexport”. Has published more than 100 including two books plus five books edited (European economic integration, International Finance, Euro market, Monetary Integration, Regional Integration models). Holder of Jean Monnet Chair in European economic integration.


Olga Potemkina
PhD holder, defended thesis on immigration policy in France. Since 2003 – docent at the of European Integration Chair MGIMO; research and teaching in the field of JHA: immigration policy; visa policy; fight against organised crime; EU Enlargement and Russia’s interests; EU-Russia relations; expert consulting for Russian governmental agencies and the State Duma (Parliament). Skill in management of international seminars and European Summer Schools. Since 1994 – Head of the European Integration Division, Institute of Europe. Professional Experience with EU Member States: 2001-2003 Belgium (Participation in the International network on JHA policies, CEPS), 2000-2005 Germany (projects supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Friedrich Ebert Foundation etc.), 2004 – present Finland (Research project of the Academy of Science of Finland, University of Tampere).


Marina Strezhneva
Holder of Post Doctorate diploma in Political Sciences Defended a thesis on regional political institutions (comparing the EC and the CIS), PhD in Government from Manchester University, UK, PhD in History from Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences. A qualified political scientist, with a profound knowledge of the European Union political system and institutions, recognized expert on European integration and post-Soviet affairs. Published numerous articles, three books (one of in English, published in the USA), actively participating in national and international conferences, symposia and discussions, has developed and teaches several courses at the MGIMO-University, both in Russian and in English, devoted to different aspects of European integration.
